Calling all Panxworth Residents!

You may recall that back in 2015, your Parish Council successfully adopted the red BT phone box on South Walsham Road.

We’ve now received a proposal to make use of the old box by installing a defibrillator in there; you may have seen locally that many of the old phone boxes are being used this way and we are currently looking into partners to provide the equipment and training necessary.

Research shows that if a defibrillator is used within the first minute, the survival rate can be as high as 90% after a victim collapses. If a defibrillator is used within the first 3 to 5 minutes, the likelihood of survival is roughly 74% showing that having a defibrillator close by really makes all the difference!

We’d really like to get this proposal off of the ground and need your help to make it happen!  Could you organise an event to help raise money towards the cost of equipment needed?  Or would you like to help with the ongoing site checks once it’s running?

Now that Covid restrictions are easing, perhaps a Halloween-themed quiz, a Christmas bake sale or an Easter fair can be organised to help raise some of the anticipated cost of up to £2,000?

If you have any fundraising ideas, or questions, or would like to be involved in the project, please contact your local Parish Councillor, Vivienne Adshead on 07967 626644 or contact Parish Clerk, Caroline Purdy, via woodbastwickpc@gmail.com
