Community Speedwatch

2025 Update

We are actively seeking more volunteers to re-start the Community Speedwatch Team.  Speeding is a huge problem, particularly since the A47 works have started and is affecting our villages immensely.

Our thanks go to 2 Panxworth residents who have restarted monitoring the SAM2 sign data; sadly, this enforces the reports of increased traffic and speeding.  The Parish Council continue to work with our partners in Highways and Policing to search for further measures and support.  We will keep you updated through The Mardler and on this website.

2023

After a busy summer of helping the community stay safe and many years of volunteering to monitor and slow traffic through our villages, we are sad to wave goodbye to our Community Speedwatch Team of Peter, Derek and Dobby.   They have selflessly given time and assistance for many years and in 2019 were runners up to the Broadland District Council Volunteer Community Heroes Awards, a well deserved recognition!   We now turn to the task of trying to recruit a new team, if you would like to know more, our Speedwatch Lead Councillor is Vivienne Adshead, her contact details can be found through The Mardler magazine.  Alternatively, please contact the clerk via email clerk@woodbastwick-pc.gov.uk.

Here is a picture of the retiring boys in action, thank you all for your service.  You will be greatly missed.

The photo shows 3 men that formed the community speed watch team.
